What is the weather like in Missouri? Does Northwestern or Northcentral Missouri get much sun? How about sun in the winter?

I've heard other people talk about "gloom" of Indiana and other places in the midwest like Ohio and Pennsylvania, so now I'm wondering about Missouri.

One of the things I have read about MO that I like is that the weather changes often. It was like that when I lived in central Europe, we had the same saying, and it was overall quite tolerable.

I don't mind cold/snow in the winter, it's actually a nice change from summer, but it's also nice when you have cold sunshine in the winter. Sunshine on freshly fallen snow is beautiful.

Appreciate the help. Thank you.

I've lived in MO all my life and it is difficult to say what the weather is like generally. The winters can be long cold and dark (gloomy). But last winter was not that way at all. We may go weeks with what seems like constant cloud cover or months with only a few cloudy days. One thing you can count on is the weather changing within a week or so. But sometimes the weather seems to change drastically from day to day, especially in the spring and fall.

You will need shorts and a heavy winter coat - sometimes in the same day.

Thanks for the insights!

I'm also hoping a few others will have time to add some comments. I'm looking more toward the NW part of the state.
