Another event used to go to every year when lived in the area: Old Miner's Day 2006 Very good opportunity to see a piece of mining history - and chance to go underground in a Lead mine. Very good people, vittles, and sights!

NWV - some happenings! Thanks! So, the bridge over the Mighty MO is finally about done? Shame tho', as on one hand was always kinda fun seeing some peoples knuckles go white, as their expressions also went kinda pale, upon crossing that bridge...

Speaking of that great river, that float sounds very good too. Floated the MO years ago - was very different than the Current, Jack's, etc. A lot more relaxing... kinda like a larger Gasconade.

My family and I used to come across the bridge on Hwy. 19 into Hermann many times. It was never one of my favorites. Esp. when an 18 wheeler was coming in the opposite direction. You felt as if there was only 1/2 foot between you and the bridge.

The float trips on the Mighty Mo are always fun. Have friends that used to do that every summer. Would be nice if some of our Missouri folk could experience some of these adventures and report back to us here. Or maybe some of the Missouri wantabees.
