I am in Arizona, and planning a trip soon to Missouri to look for a 2-3 bedroom rental house. I have been looking in ads, agents listings and Craigs List, and there seem to be whole areas that just have nothing listed. I was wondering if others have had a similar experience? I am trying to keep below $700. I have two cats, excellent credit and references. So far, Missouri does not seem pet friendly, but this happens when rentals are scarce.

Hi there! I'll try to answer for my area...the Branson/Table Rock Lake playground...from what I hear rental HOMES are scarce. You can find apartments and condos, but I'm not sure about the kitties. I think you're right about pets & scarcity...and especially cats. I have a feline member of the family also and know landlords are afraid of them because of the proportional number of people who are allergic to cats...
There are some large companies in the Springfield area, I rented from Wooten with my cat and that didn't seem to be an issue.
But it's certainly not a small town.
Wish I could be more help...if you are looking in this lower left corner, I'd be glad to give you names of leasing folk. That's a big area you're looking through...you might have more luck once you narrow down your search.
