As of August 28th, the three day waiting period has been eliminated in Missouri. Missouri now joins 30 other states that have no waiting period for couples taking out a marriage license and intending to be married within 30 days.

Elimination of the 3 day waiting period will save time and expense for couples by not having to return to the Recorder's office to pick up their license. A marriage license is valid for 30 days after issue in Missouri.

If two consenting adults decide to get married who da heck has the right to say they have to wait anyway?? I have, quite frankly, grown way friggin weary of the nanny state this country has become. The rights of millions are restricted because of the actions of a few every day in this great country of ours and it really bugs me. This is the main reason we left the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia for the relative freedom of Missouri!! We should be happy that the citizens of this fine state have elected representatives that listen to them and have begun to toss out rules and regulations that do not meet Constitutional muster.

Sorry about the mini rant folks
