Speaking of small towns...may I ask , without offending anyone, are these small towns mentioned "clean" ? Do they have ordinances to enforce keeping the town clean ?
Where we are...yikes....this place is going down hill fast ! Makes me soooo sad to see it happen. We have not been here long, and in the process of selling out and going south.
I realize that most places have "issues"...but where we are, there is not ONE street that I would be proud to drive visiting relations and friends down.
Anyhow...just wondering...

That's a fair question, Judy...and I think they are. I don't know where you ive now but I moved here from CA and that question seemed more valid there than here. I don't know much about Highlandville but my sense is that the others are all "clean" and not run down...and judging from some of the nice pics I've seen of homes in Highlandville, I'm guessing it is nice, too...but I'd better leave that to others to say. I guess there are neighborhoods everywhere that are more desirable than others, of course.

You know, that's what makes it difficult to answer questions in the forum...
We sometimes forget to ask for more info in order to give a more "tailored" answer that would fit the needs of the person doing the asking. As you can imagine, everything's relative...and it's hard to know the financial needs, work requirements, schools, commutes, etc., of everyone. Now, on the other hand, that also means that someone will appreciate every answer. Does that make sense? I mean, some are looking for the nicest areas and have enough money to buy in them...but some will need to move further out to get a better deal. So, if YOU are asking a question and want answers for YOUR situation, give as much info as you can...and you'll be happier with the results.

I was just looking at your post again, Judy, and have to make another comment...the good news...or bad news, depending on your point of view...is that MO is not known for having high ordinances...so unless you're in a community with association fees or what have you, "ya takes yer chances", as they say.
