Let me know what you think, Eric! One of the things I love is how they have a lot of personal weather stations so they can be more accurate. I also love the photos and that I can have all my favorite locations listed on the left side so wherever I have family and want to see what's going on in their neck of the woods, I just look on the left side in my Favorites list and it gives me their current temp. If I click on their city's name, it'll take me directly to their page with all their info. Oh! One more thing...they have a very active blog section. Lastly, their site is waaaay faster than weather.com's site, which is where I used to "go" until some man told me about Weather Underground.

I hear ya, jammer! Of course, if last winter is any indication, I won't get to use much winter wear since every place I walk into has their heat crankin'!!! I wear my coat and gloves when I leave home but I have to be ready with something lighter for when I get inside! Kwim???

I do not look at the Weather Channel Forecast often at all. Most of the temperature forecasts are very wrong.

Here is the link the official St. Joseph forecast along with updated computer models: Lows should mainly be in the 20s after Tuesday. (Snow for northern Missouri on Wednesday night into Thursday!)

7-Day Forecast for Latitude 39.77N and Longitude -94.89W (Elev. 800 ft) (http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?site=EAX&llon=-95.209588&rlon=-94.514588&tlat=40.022917&blat=39.327917&smap=1&mp= 1&map.x=113&map.y=92 - broken link)

If it gets cold enough I may be able to go ice fishing in Minnesota this December! The temperatures had better get cold enough so the lakes start freezing over.
Lake Mille Lacs is fantastic north of Minneapolis.

Have never done such - but being in this area [NE IN] it is quite popular too, when weather creates those conditions, have had some friends offer to take me; but, for some reason snipe hunting comes to mind too...

What is the fish of choice for that when you are in MN? Bait? You use a hut?

Oh, and just for you, a day after that infamous mouse's 79th birthday yesterday:

ps: for those interested, and to tie this into MO relevancy the man who actually created this mouse 'beloved by millions', was born in none other than the city of fountains... Kansas City, MO; a gentleman by the name of Ub Iwerks [actual spelling Ubbe Ert Iwwerks]- his people hailed from East Frisia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia {btw, sad yet interesting about their language, and their culture}.
It is funny you mention this. I lived temporarly in Marceline,Missouri where Walt Disney grew up.....Marceline It is a cute little town.

Yea, a BIL and his family lived there for a while too - is nice; large tree lined streets.

My feet would probably get severe frostbite wearing those things around Death Valley!

That would be so awesome! I've never done it myself, but my one sister-in-law (my older brother's wife) has an older sister who lives up in Bemidji, and they've gone ice fishing up in that area before.

One of my other sisters-in-law now lives with her immediate family just outside of Minneapolis; they moved up there from the Texas Gulf Coast about a year ago. I'll have to ask them if they're familiar with Lake Mille Lacs.
