Has anyone seen this bill? If passed it will give the governor the option of forming a Missouri State Guard! The original MO State Guard was formed in 1861 to repel a Federal invasion thanks to Claiborne Fox Jackson and the pro confederate lawmakers. Now we just need to bring Sterling Price back from the dead!!I wonder if they will use the same flag they used?<a href="http://www.house.mo.gov/billtracking/bills141/biltxt/intro/HB1542I.htmhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missouri_State_Guard" target="_blank">http://www.house.mo.gov/billtracking...ro/HB1542I.htm

The Missouri State Guard (MSG) was a state militia organized in the state of Missouri during the early days of the American Civil War. While not initially a formal part of the Confederate States Army, the State Guard fought alongside Confederate troops and, at times, under regular Confederate officers.

Agreed that it is an unnecessary expense for the government.

So much a stupid waste of money. How does that have anything to do with building the economy.Topeka isn't that far away. Might be a good time for a raid into Ks.
They are acting like it is 1861 all over again. They pass the bill and then they will use our taxes to fight it out in court and lose!

Ridiculous but typical of the antics of the Missouri General Assembly. A dog and pony show funded by the taxpayer.
