And a real case of...diabetes, perhaps?
That cat might be dead by now, the article I read about that was 10 years old. It said Guinness dropped that category from it's record books because people were fattening up their pets just to get in their book.

William McKee (1815-1879)

One of the masterminds of the " Whiskey Ring " which defrauded the U.S Treasury of more than $1 million a year by siphoning off tax revenue from crooked whiskey sales. He owned the St.Louis Globe and allegedly purchased the Democrat to silence reporting about the whiskey ring. He forged the 1870 census so St.Louis' population figures weren't lagging behind Chicago's.

St.Louis' first millionaire was John Mullanphy (1758-1833). He came here in 1804 after fighting in the Irish Brigade in France. He was considered eccentric and often wore a boot on one foot and a shoe on the other. He made his money in cotton and had 14 daughters and one son who became mayor of St.Louis in 1847.

The man responsible for getting the streets of St.Louis paved for the first time was William Carr Lane (1789-1863). He was the first mayor of St.Louis.
Kind of figures that someone named Carr Lane would be worried about paved streets.
