In April, voters in Winfield, Missouri, elected Harry Stonebraker to a fourth term as mayor. He won an overwhelming victory, taking 90 percent of the vote. He had also been dead for about a month.

Stonebraker died on March 11, but still got 205 of the 231 votes cast. The county clerk was quoted as saying she wasn't at all surprised, because the mayor had been very popular. "He seemed to get even more popular after he died," she said.
No doubt! Finally, he could do no harm. Quite frankly, I personally think "expired" politicians are preferable to most still with us.

Missourians aren't the only ones that feel that way.

I noticed a number of dogs and cats have also won elections. I guess if there was a rule somewhere that the candidate has to be human a lot of politicians would not be eligible.

Having a Disney World in St. Louis... Could you just imagine all of the development that would have came with it? The entire Midwest would have benefited.

If one were to argue about how good the Busch family really was for St. Louis; the (possible) insulting of Walt Disney would haunt them. Having THE Walt Disney World would have been far better for the city than ever having Anheuser-Busch.

I still wonder as to why he didn't consider KC.
That would have been something if they built a Disney World in St. Louis. I agree with you about Busch.
