My partner and I plan on building our own "tiny house" on a trailer and also plan on buying some land out in the country to live at. Were going to use solar panels for our electricity and dig a water well for water so we're able to be completely off grid. I read somewhere that you're able to place a mobile home on land you own only in certain zones like Residential A Zone, Estate Zone, General Residential Zone and Agricultural Zone, but then I found out I was reading something for Tennessee. Does anyone know if that's the case for Missouri or know if I can place a mobile home on my own land and live in it full time? I need all the help I can get!

I believe it depends on the county and whether they have planning and zoning or not.

Thank goodness zoning and housing restrictions are uncommon in rural Missouri. Chances are you will be free of such straightjacketing. Which county are we talking about?

Some county's such as Cass County require you to have 40acres for a mobile home but you can get a Variance to put one on your property.

Like all of the others have said, check with your local County or Town (if you'll be classified within City Limits). Everywhere has different rules / stipulations

Good Luck!

P.S. I LOVE the tiny house movement! Share photos when you've built the tiny house!

As a temporary GO AROUND. You can just keep it on it's wheels with a License plate and you are good to go.
