My husband and I are moving to Southwest Missouri in a couple months. We are trying to locate housing. There is a house in La Russell we are interested in but was told La Russell has a high crime rate and has a big problem with drugs. From what I have seen, the population is not all that big, few places to shop, etc. Does anyone have any information on this?? We would appreciate any info! Thanks!

La Russel is very small. Any crime they have is most like someone local that are baddies. Seemed funny to even have that mentioned. I have never heard of it.

Default Crime in La Russell, MO

My brother lived on a farm outside La Russell...I lived in Sarcoxie...I still have family there. What they consider a high crime rate is generally measured in Speeding tickets and the like. I have not heard of any major crimes such as you find in the city...although they do have the normal problems with teenagers that occur everywhere.

Default La Russell

Well if you are speaking of La Russell near Carthage, the town is very small. I am not sure if there is any shopping besides for farming. There used to be a gas station but I am not sure if it is still there. The crime rate would be very little beside pettie child crimes. If you are interested in more homes in the area contact me a JDunaway@Charlesburt.com and I can send you some listings.

I lived in LaRussell and went to high school in Sarcoxie. Both were very nice small towns with very friendly people. LaRussell had a general store, barber shop, laundry mat, 2 gas stations, post office, Aggieville feed store, 3 churches: Baptist, Methodist and Penicostal, and a little red brick, 2 room school house. Population was around 100 people. Mostly hard working farmers.
