I'd recommend getting some BBQ in Kansas City, and seeing the arch in St Louis. There isn't much off I-70.

Stop in Kingdom City for some fudge or chocolates from Ozarkland.

Bologna sandwich at Crane's store.
Cranes Country Store | A great place to shop since 1899
Right off the highway and a walk back in time.
Williamsburg exit 161, then 1/4 mile north.
Sit on the front porch and relax for a while, in a very small friendly town.

Broadway Oyster Bar, 7th and Broadway, St. Louis. Cajun food to the max. Gator when available.

It's really cool ta go up in the St. Louis Arch. It is not for the claustrophobic, though. When at the top you look out of wide but not tall windows out at the city. Really pretty cool! And not expensive. It was back in 2004 that we went up there - it costs something but it really isn't very much. Well worth the price for what you get.

Stop at Les Bourgeois Blufftop Bistro and/or A-Frame at Rocheport, 15 min west of Columbia. Great view and decent wines. Depending on time of day maybe go into downtown Columbia for some Sparky's ice cream too.
