My wife's parents have both passed. They left a pickup with no TOD. How can she get it into her name?

Try the URL I've reproduced below. Look up "small estate affidavit " in particular, see if her parents qualify. If you have to go through full probate, it's expensive and time-consuming, especially if there's no TOD or will.

This is exhibit A why people should set up their valuable property (house, car) to pass outside probate, and have a will for cleanup and unexpected situations.

We had been after her for years to set up a will. She did leave her car TOD to my wife. And my wife was co-owner of the bank accounts, but the house and pickup will have to go through probate, I guess. Have to wait at least 30 days to do anything.
