Eminence is a great location. Small school and not far from Willow Springs. Lots of horse events. [MOD CUT]

I posted a similar response on another thread. Missouri is not for everyone. its a very insular and parochial state, that many transplants find hard to live in. I moved back to CA after 2 years.

You may be ok since you are active in your church and agriculture.

I would seriously try to rent for a few months before making a long term commitment to stay.

I grew up in Saint Louis, but my Dad attended university down in Southern MO. I've been down many times, and I would say Cape Girardeau is an amazing place to live! It's close to Horseshoe lake, has a great southern-US feeling to it (but not too in-your-face with accents and "yes, m'am"s) has a very good school system and isn't clique-ish at all. I have a few friends that live in CG and every time I go to visit them, their neighbors, friends, and community accept me like one of their own. Hope this helped!

Cape Girardeau is located at the bottom of the transitional area in Missouri, at the confluence of the South and where the South begins transitioning over to Midwest. And btw, St. Louis isn't Southern. If you believe that, then you must also believe Chicago, Cincinnati, and Kansas City are southern. Get your facts straight. Bye
