We are looking to move in Southwest Missouri area. We are interested in Nixa, Willard and Ozark Missouri based on online reviews and in Niche. We also look at Mount Vernon and Clever Missouri because the houses are affordable. Also we consider moving to Web City and Carl Junction. We are all over place right now.

We try looking for houses in zillow, specifically Nixa, Willard and ozark area but for some reason the houses are gone so quick and can hardly find an affordable house. In Mount Vernon, Web City and CarL Junction the houses are affordable is it because its a bad area to live or is a good area to live too and raise kids?

We are from St Louis. We are ready to move for a quite place to raise our kids and not feel unsafe. Any inputs are much appreciated.

I think Joplin would be good. It may not have the oceans and mountains nor the state farmers market nor anything else others will add, but it'll work out well.

I’m sure most people in the Raleigh/Durham/chapel Hill/Cary area would have no idea. You might want to try one of the Missouri fora.

Any reason you aren't considering Joplin? Homes are quite affordable there, and it's a decent enough small city with shopping and restaurants and a hospital. Same with Springfield. Unless you're trying to stay more rural? (although both Joplin and Springfield have rural areas within their city limits)

Also, this is the North Carolina forum

Thank you so much for all your inputs. I will post in Missouri forum. We haven't consider Joplin because we met one lady that used to lived in Joplin. She hated it and moved outside of Springfield Missouri. Just tired of feeling that somebody going to break in the house at night that why we are trying to move away from the City. The suburb in St Louis and St Charles area are really nice for family but the housing are way too expensive now. That's why we are considering of moving in the Southwest area of Missouri.

Crime is a lot worse in Springfield than in Joplin.
