“Hate speech” is one of the more ridiculous phrases in modern society.
Literally anything that one doesn’t agree with can be considered hate speech.
While there are things that can be universally understood as hateful, we need to be careful to silence anyone. As has been seen with “racism” and “bigotry”, “hate speech” can easily be broadened and expanded upon and weaponized towards those someone simply disagrees with. These accusers generally don’t care about how absurd their accusations often are.
Also, to call Trump a white supremacist is flat out intellectually lazy. The guy is nothing of the sort. I can understand the non-likability, but at least think it through before parroting the nonsense of the left.

You only see fraud because you want to see it. It has become a religion. A conclusion has been made, and you then try to find evidence to fit your conclusion. You want fraud to exist because you don't want your Dear Leader Trump to have lost legitimately, so you see fraud in every nook and cranny you can think of, even though there's nothing there.

And those who don't believe your religion become part of the conspiracy.

Trump has many Jewish friends, family member, and is favorable towards blacks.

Trump is actually more moderate and liberal than many Republicans.

Remember, he's from New York City, not southern Missouri.

I have an acquaintance (a moderate) who spends some weeks in the New England area (not NYC, Baltimore, I think), every year or two, but lives in Central Texas. He says, they aren't conservative up there, but they are racist. He can never wait to get back to the Centex area, where people are valued for their ability to get a job done, without concern for which of the (dozen or so, in his area) ethnic groups they belong to. I always thought that was ironic: the Leftists pointing at us and telling us how racist we are, but his experience was just the opposite.

Trump probably thinks more along the lines of those in Texas. I never got the impression he thinks in terms of race. His sizable number of minority voters understood that. Look at me talking in terms of race now, but it was done to make a point.
The media, largely based in the northeast, can't seem to help themselves. They're in a region of the country where people obsess over ethnicity whether they're racists or trying to 'fix' racism. It's fine to feel a connection to one's background as long as that doesn't affect one's attitude towards others.

They just don't get it, the part where we have to drop all the nonsense of categorizing humanity if we are to learn to treat each other as humans.
Because they don't want to understand that, they're also baffled at people like Hawley who defends Trump.... to tie it back into the thread a little.

It's that same clueless mindset of the media that also doesn't understand the frustration of Trump voters.
It never was about race, and "nationalist" was really a code word for people who got tired of losing living-wage jobs to overseas competitors in favor of burger-flipping.
Immigration is fine, trade is fine, but we can't continue to be an economic powerhouse for the world if we can't even take care of ourselves.

As to whether or not the election was stolen: if it wasn't done via ballot-box, one could certainly make the argument the election would have turned out quite differently were it not for 4 years of coordinated disinformation from the mainstream media.

I never said Trump was a white supremist - if this was directed at my comment. I said his speeches and comments appealed to and empowered white supremist, in particular the ones who stormed the capitol. People can express their opinions without using trigger words. I also never said we needed to silence anyone.

Off topic - but a very clever statement in here:
" and "nationalist" was really a code word for people who got tired of losing living-wage jobs to overseas competitors in favor of burger-flipping."

We will have to learn to compete in a global market. For years we had moved to a service economy because other nations produced the good cheaper than we. We can not yell for higher wages AND simultaneously complete with other nations that pay less.

Jesus, people on this thread live in an alternate reality. I'll let y'all know when I spot George Soros trotting around St. Louis County...

Those who back Hawley, and by corollary, Trump, do not yell for higher minimum wage, but we do ask that foreign competitors compete on a level playing field, (something that no one until Trump had pushed for) so obviously we are going to back Hawley, who backed Trump. We want a level playing field, so that there are jobs other than "flipping burgers" (manufacturing, instead of service economy) for your younger generations to capitalize on.
