Hi. I know nothing about Missouri.

I’m researching options if any, and moving from windy West Texas.

I’ll need a rental with a commute of no more than 30 minutes. I don’t mind a rural community. I’m a single, late 50s professional with pets. I need access to markets with quality raw produce.

Any suggestions at all? Safe areas? Bad areas? Anything?

I’m not finding much valuable information so far. With rental searches, I’m finding locations in larger cities. Is that all there is?

Every time I move I come here because the information is the best.

Thanks so much!!!!

Well...Auxvasse is rural, and the whole surrounding area is pretty rural as well. Looking on a map, it looks like Columbia is the closest big city in the area, and seeing as it's a college town, it might be your best bet for rentals. Other places to try might be Kingdom City and Montgomery City.

To be clear, you plan on commuting TO Auxvasse? I used to live near there (Hatton was closer but no Post Office so Auxvasse was my address).

There are some rentals in Auxvasse itself. Otherwise you're looking at Mexico (closest, and with a population over 10K has all the basic shopping and services you need), Columbia (already mentioned), or Fulton. Kingdom City is closer but has less housing since it's basically a truck stop town. There are some other tiny rural communities in the area, also.

Thanks everyone. Still having a tough time finding a rental, but I do appreciate your input. Are there any areas in Columbia that are unsafe???Thanks so much!
