Looking for suggestions of things to do/places to see in the vicinity of Hannibal— in Marion and Ralls Co.’s… and possibly Pike Co. IL. Things other than the popular attractions within Hannibal itself, which I’ve mostly seen. Are there any historic ruins? Lakes that are good for swimming? Roadside oddities? Also: Has the Clarksville Skylift ever reopened?

Well, some things on this list might meet your criteria of: popular spots but I wanted to make sure you were aware of them:
- Mark Twain Memorial Lighthouse (if you able, walk up the steps for a great view of the area, but you can drive up also)
- Lover Leap for a great view of the river
- There's a second cave that I have never been to but always heard it was better - Cameron Cave
- Most of the swimming in the area are lake parks - Mark Twain Lake / Spaulding Beach or Wakanda State Park (LaGrange). As a child, we actually swam in the rivers too.
- I think they took a hit in floods, but Clarksville was a very cool place to visit arts and craft people. Not sure if they are all still there
- Louisiana has a charming downtown, but again I think the highway to the west has pulled traffic to the benefit of Bowling Green over Louisiana

I don't know much about Pike County IL. I just remember the Berry Applefest being a big deal.
