I have not been back to STL to get a fresh WC burger in a long time. The frozen ones just arent the same. I grew up buying these little burgers 20 at a time. Down here in Florida they have a similiar (albeit not the same) franchise called Krystals. It doesnt come close to the WC burger in my opinion. I wish there was a way to get a WC franchise down here.

Anyone else crave these belly bombers? Or is it something most people just wont admit to liking.

Yes, the frozen ones are horrid. Either get them fresh or don't get them at all.

Krystal's puts mustard on theirs... I remember finding that out the hard way as a kid.

The funny thing about White Castle? They're not franchised; they're all corporate owned. A friend of ours looked into opening a franchise in Columbia, MO, where it would surely do well due to all the drunk kids from St. Louis going to college there.

I have never lived anywhere where I could get to a white castle in person. But I do enjoy the frozen ones. I guess I'm really missing out on the real thing.

I had a few WC sliders last weekend after playing poker with the guys. I drove by one on the way home and couldn't resist. They haven't changed, they still slide in and out!

They are always really busy late at night...I don't know why!

WC are the best. I have to admit that I have bought and eaten the frozen ones. They're okay. Of course not as good as the 'real' ones. But when ya want to satisfy a craving, they will do. I have some in the freezer now and have a couple for lunch once in awhile.

I ate the frozen ones for years when I couldn't get them fresh. They aren't too bad. It just made me want the fresh ones even more. Now I get to eat them at least once a week when I pass through or go to Farmington to repair a computer.

cant believe there are STILL no WC's in SEMO...... I had the misfortune to live in Poplar Bluff for a while in the early '80's.... we would drive to the same South County WC that I went to growing up, just to get a WC fix.

I've had "fresh" ones from the WC in Wentzville. Maybe it's just that one location, but they were terribly soggy both times I tried it. I like the frozen ones much better.... but I only have that one restaurant to compare them to. White Castle and Penn Station are the only two things about St. Louis that I, as a Kansas City resident, am actually jealous of.
