When we lived in the KC Metro area, we would often shop in Martin City. Martin City was about 6 miles west of where we lived in Grandview, MO. Martin City is right on Stateline, right on the border with Kansas. That one bank has a lot of history, and that one Roberts guy seemed to take the brunt of most the hits, didn't he?

A PLUCKY WOMAN

Early the other morning a burglar visited the residence of Henry Fenner in Carthage. He was masked and could not be identified, but in his search for booty he awakened Mrs. Fenner, who watched him as he secured her husband's purse containing $30. As he departed she secured her husband's revolver, and pursuing the thief called upon him to drop his booty. Hearing the revolver click and seeing her determined look, he dropped the money and jumped through a window, carrying the sash with him. Mrs. Fenner says she could identify the man.
