Anyone live in or is familiar with these areas? Linn and Hermann are both small towns, but are there jobs to be had? What is the area like?

Do most people that aren't in ag. in Osage County commute to Jeff City? What about the economy in the Hermann/Gasconade County area? Where do the far suburbs of St. Louis start these days, as far out as Gasconade?

I'm fairly familiar with Jeff City and Callaway County, but not the areas just to the east. Are these good places to visit but not to live?

Any info appreciated.

Wow, no one is familiar with this area? Maybe that's a good sign.

Default Hermann and Linn

Hi runninfiend.....The Linn area does offer jobs. Three Rivers electric is headquartered in Linn. Also the Linn Technical College. Many small businesses also. Hermann has become a very touristy town over the years. Many mom & pop stores, restaurants, antique stores and such. There are a few manufacturing businesses in Hermann also. And of course the wineries!

As far as commuting, yes, many do commute to Jeff City from these areas. Good luck to you and your endeavors.
