Thank you ShadowCaver. Fascinating. Will be interesting if other remains are found within this area from the same time line as suggested in these articles. Thankfully the canoeists did the 'right' thing.

I saw this on the news and thought it was really interesting. I think I heard them say that in the past pieces of Civil War clothing had been found in that area also.
I wish I had known about the re-enactment this past weekend of the Battle of Athens.
My hubby use to do re-enactments and I'm sure he would have enjoyed watching that.
