Saint Joseph has seen in influx of Latins since we had a pork plant open up. Saint Joseph has always been pretty severely racists and with the down economic times this has increased and caused more overt racism especially targeting Latins in our community.

I think this mother is doing a wonderful thing and help break this long problem that plagues this community and hurts Saint Joseph development as outsiders raised in larger communities often have this far up on their list of why they leave St Jo or will not come here. Teaching kids tolerance so hopefully they do not grow up to be ignorant racists can only help this city and if that takes over emphasizing it, so be it.
