Thank you! I knew my uncle died in a car wreck before I was born. Knew the wreck was very violent, 6 killed, head on crash, Hwy 13 north of Warrensburg. But no one even told my dad (his brother) how bad his injuries were. All he knew was that he died instantly. (Dad was in Korea at the time). Also found out my great great grandfather's name looking at my great grandmother's death certificate. What really impressed me, it is the original certificate. Thanks again, helped alot in my research of Dad's family.

No problem. They have also been very helpful in my genealogy search.

Some records are not on there, but I've found that most I've searched for are. Unfortunately, I haven't really found anything free like this for most other states.

There are Missouri records pre-1910, but they're more sporadic, and maybe less accurate. You also don't see the certificate itself.

Try this, too: http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/naturalization/

I don't want to sound morbid but it has always been kind of interesting to me to see what people die of.

How weird is it that almost all of the Effie Jacksons either died of pneumonia or tuberculosis?

Too weird.

ETA: Even Effie Susan VanDyke died of tuberculosis. There *is* a connection, I think... Effie = lung diseases. I'll get Nobel prize for sure on that one.

One of my relatives (not ancestor, but relative) beat his wife with a rock, then but her throat. He then cut his own throat.

His son later shot his wife and then shot himself.

Strange that things like that would happen in one family.
