Haven't noticed any fires here. We live in town, though.

No I'm North East of Buffalo.I was keeping an eye on one last night until 10PM.My place hasn't burned since before the Ice Storm here a few years ago,so if it does its going to get excting.Because I set up on a ridge if it burns it will kill alot of my trees.

Yeap, lots of people burning grasses this time of year... many times, they don't realize just how easy it is for the fire to get out of control, very quickly. Don't take much of a gust of unexpected wind, and/or once it gets to a large enough size to really dry out material around it and ignite fast. Did some burning of the grass on my dam over the weekend, but only VERY small sections at a time. Might check out the following:

Thing is around here people just drive along the roads when there is no moisture and high winds and set the woods on fire. You better watch it if someone tell you your woods need burning because they will see its done.

Plus it gets violent had one neighbor shot down the Forestry Plane another beat the something out of one the Crew putting out a fire.

One year I was completly surrounded by fire my wife has caught her clothes on fire twice trying to put them out.

You stay safe out there. It sounds like life in the wild west to me.

My buddy was down in Mountain View , Arkansas last night .... I was on the phone with him ( he on a cellphone) and I could barely hear him from the sirens running past him ... I asked him what's going on there and he said, " looks like a hillside is on fire in the distance ."

Is it going to be another dry year ?
