Hello Everyone, we are preparing for a move from Colorado to West Virginia this summer and we are driving our own moving truck. We are looking for a nice place just east of St. Louis where we can stay in a hotel overnight, we are looking for someplace safe and quiet where we won't have to worry too much about parking the moving truck overnight. We would also like to try to be far enough out of town to avoid any traffic issues as we travel east in the morning. If anyone has any advice I would really appreciate it, thanks in advance.

Seth

Seth,

if you are taking I-70 east of StL, anything between Glen Carbon and Vandalia is good; the latter one has quite a few hotels, plus a W-Mart, if such is needed.

if you are taking I-64 east of StL, O'Fallon is about the largest, nicest area just east of StL. Not really much until you get to Mt. Vernon. So, just depends upon how far east you feel you want/can go after getting through St. Louis.

Either one of these you should not need to worry about traffic in the morning, as you will be going east, while majority of people in that area will be heading west to the city.

Recommend tho' that look at your schedule and that of the StL Cardinals - if they are in town when you are coming in, traffic can be a bear. I-40 east of I-270 is also under construction, so watch that too.

Good luck!
