Guys like the Klitschko's easily clear millions of dollars per fight. Even the little guys are clearing millions.

While James Toney, who's prime was at 168, decided to fight when he was finished in boxing in MMA at over 240lbs, and lost when he was pitted against the worst possible stylistic matchup against a guy that made his career with his wrestling skills, there has never been a MMA fighter to try to fight one of the best guys at boxing.

Why is that?

James Toney made $750K for one fight in MMA because it was kind of a side show spectacle.

There have been several boxers to make the transition to MMA, namely, 50 year old Mercer who KOed former UFC and longest reigning UFC champ at the time, Tim Sylvia, but I can't think of an MMA fighter who fought that level of competition in boxing.

Kimbo made the transition, but he is fighting bums.

Why wouldn't an MMA fighter have one fight in boxing and make more money in one fight than possibly his entire career in MMA?

Think about how much money Brock Lesnar would make against the Klitschkos.

Yes, he would be knocked out in one round, but it would attract millions of viewers.

Several mma guys box, some are decent. The problem is nobody wants to box because while the big name top dogs make a ton, the journeyman, doesn't make crap. Why leave mma to box for 10k when middle of the road mma guy is making 20-30k. You boxing guys spend a lot of time telling us how much the top guys make but the Middle of the road guys don't make any more.

Also, no top boxer would agree to fight a mma fighter in the cage or in the ring, period.

As for kimbo fighting bums, go look up any top level boxers record and tell me how many decent/top guys they faced early on. I think it was 9 fights before mayweather faced a guy with a winning record.

James toney picked his fight with randy. He called out the older randy couture, called him every name in the book, and talked about how easy it would be to knock him out. In the end, he got paid 500k, and the IRS put a freeze on the payment so he pretty much got his ass handed to him for free!

Tim Sylvia is not, was not, and never will be a "great mma fighter" nor is he an example of anything good in mma period. Boxing apologists always talk about him and that fight as if it was some great accomplishment. Facts are, that fight was suppose to be a special rules exhibition match that had a rules change the night before the fight. Tom sylvia was the UFC champ when almost every heavyweight that was worth anything was in pride and not the UFC.

For further information on this subject I suggest you search the site as there are plenty of trolls around this place who have already tried this.

Some MMA fighters become pro boxers, but the problem is those former MMA Fighters were ****. For Example, Kimbo Slice was a ****ty ass disappointment for the UFC. He had a huge reputation of being an outstanding Backyard Fighter. However he lost to Seth Petruzelli, a light heavyweight, in 14 seconds in the 1st round. He later became part of the ufc, fought in the ultimate fighter and lost to Matt Mittone in UFC 113. He then was cut and made a career in boxing, his boxing career is far more impressive, being 5-0.
