while i would rather see diaz win i dont think he can beat gsp. i will say if anyone ever has, diaz has surely gotten in gsps head and who knows what that will do to his game. will he be on his game, more focused then ever, or will he get mad thus sloppy and get beat?

Nick Diaz cannot defend against GSP's takedowns. He will be on his back for 20 of the 25 minutes if it lasts that long. GSP hasn't finished anybody in a while so it will probably go the full 25 minutes.

Nick is the highest level black belt in Bjj Gsp has faced with the exception of BJ penn whom was 25 lbs smaller then Gsp on fight night. Nick Diaz WANTS to be taken down.

I wouldn't be surprised to see GSP try to take Diaz down towards the end of the rounds in order to score points. Also, this would minimize the time that Diaz would have to work his submissions.

yes, i would expect that as well. its typical gsp, point fighting.
the question is does gsp want to stand and bang? is he going to punch and run in greg jackson style? diaz doesnt have KO power really but he throws in huge volume. i also believe diaz beat condit.

i honestly think gsp wins but its gonna be ugly point fighting on his part. i see it going like this:
1st round, diaz comes at him quick, backs him to the cage and punches, takes some too. gsp will punch and circle off the cage. diaz will raise his hands in the "come on lets go ****" and run after him again. with 30 seconds left in the round gsp will get an easy takedown and diaz will work for position.

rounds 2-5, same

decision will go unanimous to gsp based on his takedowns in each round.

As far as "stand and bang" is concerned, I doubt it will be anything like we just saw with Stann vs Silva. It will either be as you described, or maybe GSP will try to use the jab like he did with Kosceck and then try to set up the late round takedowns. It's hard to imagine that GSP would just stand in front of Diaz while taking a flurry of punches without circling away.

I am pulling for GSP all the way just cause Diaz is so disrespectful and him not doing/Showing up to the the press Conferences and shooting pre-Fight promos like a pro-fighter at an elite level is expected to do to promote fights and the sport outside the Octagon/Ring he actually hurts the sport of MMA.

My guess if Diaz losses badly to GSP then Dana will let him go from UFC after seeing highlights of this afternoons press conference on ESPN.
