Feel bad for Robbie Lawler. He has an imminent fight with Nick Diaz, which was contracted for at a 170lb weight limit, and Nick Diaz pushed for the fight to be moved to 185lb during fight week! Lawler actually accepted, I've never heard of such a large weight change being agreed to so late. Maybe Diaz came in fat this week, or maybe he actually planned in advance to come in a lot bigger with muscle for an unfair advantage and didn't try to cut weight.

Welp, it took 17 years, but Robbie Lawler has avenged his loss to Nick Diaz with a 3rd round TKO. Very glad. They're both great fighters, but I like Lawler's, more humble, all-business style more than Diaz's trash talking and antics.

Lawler was fitter and looked technically crisper than Diaz, plus he was of course a more complete and experienced fighter than when they first met in 2004. Both fighters are in their late 30s but there was plenty of action throughout. Diaz, in his typical fashion had tremendous volume striking and gave a pretty good accounting of himself, but Lawler kept moving forward even if he was absorbing Diaz combinations and was landing the most damaging punches. Lawler knocked Diaz down in the 3rd and Diaz did not want to continue.
