Who wins MMA/UFC fans? Couture or Lesnar? This should be one hell of a fight! I can see it going either way, the feeling is Couture somehow taps out Lesnar within 3-4 rounds, yet a part of me could see Lesnar being too young, big and strong and win a decision.
Also on that card is Kenny Florian vs Joe Stevenson- I say Florian by Decision.
if anybody (heavyweight) is gonna beat Lesnar, it's Couture.
the longer Lesnar stays in this sport and the more experienced he becomes, i dont see a lot of his fights - if any - even going to a decision. ive often compared him to a gorilla competing against men. in a way, it's not fair.
anyway, i dont think i am going to order this PPV - and i usually order them at a rate of 2 outta 3, if not 3 outta 4. this just isnt a strong card. i'm already looking toward UFC 92 which is a stacked card - and i'm going on record right here and now to say that i am for Rashad Evans all the way.
It's a shame that a guy with a 2-1 overall MMA record (1-1 in the UFC) is awarded a title shot. I feel bad for Nogueira at this point. Oh well, I guess it will sell.
Interesting fight. Randy hasn't fought in well over a year and has had trouble in the past with large heavyweights. Brock is a novice but has good wrestling and athleticism.
At this point I just don't see Brock winning this fight. I think Randy will win a unanimous decision but both of their stocks will rise because it won't be a blowout or anything.
The line on this fight going over 2:30 of round 3 is (-125). I'll take action on that line please.
Kenny Florian (-185) vs. Joe Stevenson (+155)
This could either be fight on the fight or time to take a nap - not really sure. Most aren't really giving Joe much of a chance, but I think this fight is much closer than the line indicates. Still, I'll pick Florian 29-28 in a fairly uneventful fight.
Gabriel Gonzaga (-450) vs. Josh Hendricks (+300)
Don't know anything about Josh, other than his biggest strength is also Gonzagas, and he's not nearly as skilled as "Napao"at subs. Gabriel is skilled, but seems fairly mentally weak. Still can't see him losing this one.
Demian Maia (-210) vs. Nate Quarry (+180)
I'm taking Nate in the upset. I like Maia as much as anyone, but I think his limited standup will get him hurt in this fight. Quarry by TKO.
Dustin Hazelett (-180) vs. Tamdan McCrory (+150)
Hazelett by submission.
Jorge Gurgel (-115) vs. Aaron Riley (-115)
Aaron Riley is a shell of his former self and Jorge is only on the big stage because of who he's friends with. Tough fight to call, but I'll go with Jorge, just b/c he's fought better competition as of late.
Jeremy Stephens (-135) vs. Rafael dos Anjos (+105)
Don't know anything about RdA, so I'll pick Jeremy.
Matt Brown (-200) vs. Ryan Thomas (+160)
Who??? Brown was decent in his last fight so I'll go with him.
Alvin Robinson (+110) vs. Mark Bocek (-140)
I think Robinson should be the favorite in this fight. I'm taking him.

So, essentially I picked all of the betting favorites except Quarry, Robinson, and Couture.
Like I said in an earlier post, I honestly think this a weak PPV card and I won't be ordering it - which is not common for me. Thank god the next 3 PPVs look incredible because they should to make up for this one. I guess I'll eat my words if it turns out to be a good event.
have you all seen how much bigger lesnar is compared to couture? its scary. but yea, i still think lesnar shouldnt be getting a title shot this early in his career, but whatever...even if lesnar wins, nog will still win the whole thing anyway.
