This is MMA, they are suppose to be good in all disciplines, but you have guys like Damian Maia that is only good in bjj, remember Thales Leites? All this guy did was drop on the floor and crawl, just like Damian Maia, and Dana White cut this guy out of the UFC. Dana will do the same to Damian Maia. Rousimar Palhares is another guy. Houston Alexander, and the gimmick Kimbo Slice, all of these guys are in the wrong sport. And what the hell is Roy Nelson doing in the UFC? This guy is a joke, all he does is use his fat belly to put guys down and he throws soft punches like pillows, he is a disgrace to the sport.

I think Struve might disagree on the soft pillow punches.

Not everyone can be well rounded at first and train hard to get proper training to fill those holes in there game , have you actually watched Roy Nelson's last 2 fights ?

I don't think the BJ fight was a upset , with DW saying he doesn't want belt holders to jump out of their division to fight and with BJ wanting to go to 170 and last night's performance of BJ wasn't close to being his best , if the BJ who fought Sancez fought last night then Edgar wouldn't have last that long . I feel BJ , GSP , Silva are plotting against DW and want to make his life turn upside down , BJ wants to fight GSP , Silva wants to fight GSP then Brock , GSP want to fight Silva , as mad as it sounds but look at all of their last fights . or am i going mad

so what you want to see is a fighter box for a round, then use his judo/wrestling for another round then use his jiu jitsu in the 3rd and so on? i mean GTFOH.

"Mixed" MA does not mean one is required to use a variety of techniques, only that a variety of techniques and styles are allowed and legal.

exactly right!

on a side note, one of the guys from out gym here in houston made the fianls to get into the house on the next season of the ultimate fighters.
look for RAY BLODGETT from elite mma in houston, he will be fighting to get into the house on the season after this. boy has sick jitz, his stand up needs a little work but his takedowns and jits are top notch.

Speaking of UF,did anyone see the opening episode where the French guy made the point of saying he was there to prove the French weren't wimps, and then quit after one round because he got hit a few times?LMAO!
