Thanks, I just checked Century Link (online) based on 36532 zip code, and the following screen is "Sorry, CenturyLink service is not available at this time"?
Forgot to mention that we do not use a home phone for anything, only cell phones. So, if a land line has to be added that would be an additional cost on top of the high-speed internet price which is why we liked using Cox Cable Modem Internet (internet only, no phone service required).

We have ATT Uverse, and it works great, as you do not lose reception when it rains hard. If you have ATT cell, and can combine them all, it comes out great. The DSL, cell, phone, ect...and price is pretty decent.

That is interesting and I`m sure that they serve that area. I just typed in the Zip Code for Semmes,Al where Century Link has a sizable customer base and it said the same thing I don`t know what is up with that...I do know that most neighborhoods are already built with a land line but if the case was different I don`t think they charge you if they have to add a land line.

I have prob the package mediacom quoted you. Basic cable and internet. They would not give internet alone back when I signed up. Last time I checked with Century link, you had to have phone service with them in order to get internet, which ended up being around $70 total.
