[FONT=Arial][SIZE=2]Hello,

Thanks in advance for any responses. I'm moving to the area next July and am trying to be proactive in my research. I'm a single female, 1 high school, 1 middle school and I'll be working from home. I'm looking for a safe area, possibly gated apartment community. I'll be down for Thanksgiving, and while I've looked at places online...I'd like to have a jumpstart on where I should look first. Gated isn't a necessity, and while I'm sure all areas have crime, safety is one of my highest priorities. 3-4 bedroom/townhouse/condo would be optimal.

I've heard a lot about the downtown area as the place to be.

Again, suggestions are beyond appreciated!

Look at Arlington Park, Regency Gates, or Lenox Gates. Very nice gated complexes.

I lived at Timber Ridge which was also nice. No security gate, but never felt like the place really needed it, it's kinda secluded at the end of a business park road.

Well if you've heard good things about downtown then you may want to try one of the nearby neighborhoods. I live in Oakleigh and love it. It's a very walkable and social neighborhood, front porch living style. No apartments but there are homes for rent. There is also the Old Dauphn Way district, Church St. East, and Detonti.
