Great for Mobile and Alabama!

Airbus' decision was influenced by: Alabama's right to work laws, ensuring lower labor costs and producing in US dollars vs Euro. The State's incentives were what one would expect - mostly investment in infrastructure improvements (roads and power) and some tax breaks.

Critics of Alabama's immigration law said that it would discourage foreign investment - lefties get proven wrong again (and again - but they don't care).

Funny how you want to turn this into a political thing, but for your info this deal was in the working before the immigration bill was annouced. The former Gov. Bob Riley (although I wasn't a fan)should take all the credit for this win.

Yeah. But given how that legislation was signed into law a year ago, Airbus had plenty of time to steer it somewhere else. That is, if they actually cared.

mimpdaddy - funny how you didn't bother to read the OPs link, which includes this hint of the "political thing":

"Airbus has said it wants to expand, and that it favors a site in the Southern U.S." (Alabama, Mississippi, or Texas)

Why the Southern US? Is it because the French like the weather? Is it because of the historical ties that the French have to Alabama and Mississippi (colonial capital at Mobile then Biloxi)?

Funny how you ignored snl's link with this clue-by-four of the "political thing":

"U.S. labor groups said they were disappointed with Airbus' decision to build its first U.S. plant in Alabama, where it is effectively impossible to form a powerful union... Alabama are among two dozen U.S. states which uphold so-called 'right-to-work' laws that prohibit compulsory membership of a union..."

Funny how you ignored MOKAN's comment to whine about -my- bringing up the "political thing":

"They don't want the secret out that Republican ideology and practices actually bring jobs and prosperity to the people."

Republican former Governor Bob Riley, of whom I am a "fan" unlike you, deserves credit for implementing policies based on "Republican ideology and practices", just as Republican Governor Bentley has earned kudos for implementing many of the same successful practices based on the same ideology.

EVERY State that elected a Republican Governor in 2010 "saw a drop in their unemployment rates since January of 2011", however "This was not the case for states that elected Democrats in 2010".

Unemployment Rate Dropped In Every State That Elected A Republican Gov. In 2010

State money was used to provide incentives to Airbus - that makes this a "political thing".

What?

The immigration law has nothing to do with this deal. Spare us the empty right wing rhetoric. Grow up.

JoeP - "empty right wing rhetoric" creates jobs in Alabama.

One of the liberal arguments against Alabama's immigration law is that the law will discourage foreign investment. That argument has been proven to be demonstrably wrong, again; the Airbus decision follows other foreign investment deals. Their wrongness doesn't stop lefties from making the argument (or in your case refusing to acknowledge that it exists).
