What are some suggestions for good clean grocery stores in northern Mobile? I went to Winn Dixie last week and between the gf and I we spent $200 for the week of groceries. We were paying about $3/lb of chicken at Krogers in Houston, it was like $5.70 at Winn Dixie. We eat 20+lbs of chicken/turkey burger a week so nearly doubling the cost adds up. We went to one of the wal marts but it was kind of gross and beyond packed.

Something similar to a HEB or Krogers would be good.

It's going to be high at Winn-Dixie unless you have one of those rewards cards. The new Publix stores in Mobile are probably very nice, but also expensive. Do you have a Sam's membership? That may be an option.

I'd also try the Wal-Mart in Saraland, it's a bit less crowded than the ones in Mobile.

I used to have a sams but it expired. I travel for work in a 5th wheel so fridge and freezer space is limited so we try and just get what we need for the week.

Do the winn dixie rewards cards cost anything? Krogers had a sinilar program and it saved us like 20-30%

Went to wal mart in saraland! Good suggestion! Was pretty decent and the price were very reasonable. Chicken was about $3/lb cheaper than winn dixie. That alone will save me about $50+ a week!

I doubt you have ever stepped foot in that Wal-Mart.

I think Publix has recently entered the Mobile area in the past year or two. They have a good reputation for very clean and nice stores. Publix does not offer a loyalty card like Kroger and Winn Dixie, but they do have cards specifically for participation in Publix Partners for schools and organizations and Upromise for college education savings.

I don't really get sick other than colds. By the end of the week my gf and I will have consumed 21lbs of their meat, and 4 cartons of their egg whites. Those are about the only items I could get sick from. I'll report back if I'm dying
