Hi guys! So we just recently moved here and spent the past week trying to get everything together. So we really haven't had time to go out and explore Mobile. We were wondering what there is to do and what kind of festivals go on around here. We really like historic and haunted places and have heard this is a good area to be in. Thank you so much!

If your into history you guys can check out the USS Alabama (well worth it ) , Museum of Mobile, Mobile carnival museum ( This museum will give you a break down on the history Mardi Gra in Mobile) , historic house tours ,Cathedral Basilica, and etc Most of the old historic homes have some sort of haunted past to them,Fort Gaines and fort Morgan are known to be haunted . For out door activities you can take an air boat tour or kayak the Mobile delta which is the 5th largest delta in the world, Dauphin Island charter boat rides , Bellengrath gardens with the dinner boat cruise, and the brand new Maritime Museum with Mobile bay ferry excursions will be opening soon. The city host several festivals with the largest being carnival ( Mardi gra) , The Mardi Gra season kicks off in Mobile with Mardi Gra balls and they are fun and full of culture. As a matter of fact several balls are being hosted as of now. The city host he monthly art walk which is the 1st Friday of every month the streets of downtown Mobile are closed off to vehicles and the streets come alive with art, Fairhope has a monthly art walk as well which really nice. There is the midtown music festival, downtown music festival, Crawfish festival, Shrimp festival that is held in downtown and orange beach, Jazz festival, zydeco festival in orange beach. There is always some sort of festival in the area. The Mardi Gra is the kick off of everything so most of the festivals won`t start until next month some time. The MOB(Mobilians on Bikes) is fun group to join they always have interesting bike tours of down town and midtown, They have a facebook page you guys should check them out. Keep your ears and eyes open for the Mobile in lights festival that is held monthly as well. That festival has a dozen or more local acts such as roman street or mobtown revival performing at the Saenger theater with comedy acts and etc at the Saenger theater downtown along with a second line sytle street party it`s always fun to me. If you guys like comedy check out the Alchemy comedy club downtown and the Bonkarz comedy night at Joe Cane Café.
