I'm considering private schools and public schools; I have a 2.5 yr old son in full-time daycare now and we are looking ahead.

In West Mobile you have Allentown ,Semmes Elementary, Dodge Elementary, O` Rouke Elementary, Mary B Austin, E.R Dickson, Collier , and Dawes 3-5. These are all decent elementary schools in west Mobile there are more but I cant think of them at the moment.

As for private you can choose St. Luke, Faith Academy, Mobile Christian, St.Ignatius, St Dominic, St.Pauls, Mobile Junior Academy, Corpus Christi, and Knollwood Christian.

Wish you the best !

Corpus Christi, which was named a National Blue Ribbon School when I was school board president, was founded in 1958. The other Catholic schools mentioned have also been around far longer than 1994, as well. St. Paul's is NOT just a high school, and I think there are plenty of folks who would argue that McGill and St. Paul's are far better than "not bad." Faith Academy as the academic "leader"? It may be a decent school, but that statement is far-fetched.

For the OP: Here's a link that might provide some helpful info about Mobile's public schools:

Anyone care to share their opinions or experiences with any particular school(s) (good/bad)? I guess that is what I was really looking for.
