I am pleased to "Confirm" that a Chickfila is indeed coming to Downtown Mobile. I ran in to one of the contractors and construction on the building is around 60% complete. It will be going in the Trustmark building where the Pollmans use to be located.
If looking at the Trustmark building from the Battlehouse, it is the far left building space.
Now to get to the bottom of the Krispy Kreme in the new parking garage rumor!

Ah, so it's facing Royal Street across from the Battle House entrance? That's a good location.

Well, you could be taking a gander at a number of things. However what I saw that I don't like to see is the drive 'thru'. We had an urban location of this company fight for a drive 'thru' but it was not permitted.

If it is popular at all it will cause immense traffic snarls. (not to mention smog from the enclosed setting.

I hope that is not a done deal. Suburban businesses need to adopt urban practices when coming into city centers and not bring urban problems with them.

My little rant.
