Sandy Stimpson toured the mall today....
Mayor tours Bel-Air mall construction Mobile | News, Weather, Sports, Breaking News | WPMI

The "map" made another appearance. I'd take it with a grain of salt since it places Men's Warehouse in a part of the former BAM! space and the Cabela's that may not be coming. But some of the tenancy seems realistic, like Altar'd State, LOFT, and what we've seen come to fruition thus far...

On the map I noticed Michael Kors on the corner where the entrance concourse meets the main concourse. Does anyone know if it is indeed going there, or is it already, or is it in the center now at all?

I'll be down in April and just can't wait to see the progress. I always have stood by the idea that Bel Air was and should be ground zero for Mobile's retail world. I just know that much will be changed around it as we go forward.

For whatever reason, I don't remember ever seeing a shoe store in a streetscape. (at least one attached to an enclosed center)
Unless confirmed I am thinking it would not be Aldo.

Maybe ALDI'S................JUST KIDDING...........give me a break.

It's definitely possible; Aldo has a streetscape location at Destin Commons. The hypothetical store could be built out in tandem with the PF Chang's next to it after Versona finally moves into the mall.

But that is what I meant. Destin Commons is a complete streetscape. (not connected to enclosed retail) Again, for some reason I have just not seen that when indoor space is available.

How about my questions about Michael Kors?

No word on Michael Kors currently.

However, a suitable location for Michael Kors would be the current Smash Clothing and Boost Mobile spaces immediately adjacent the future Belk store. I think Rouse wants the east end of the mall tenanted with relatively high quality specialty stores anchored by the Belk flagship. This would also be a great neighborhood for potential Lululemon Athletica, J. Crew and others.

Since acquiring Fig Garden Village in Fresno, Rouse has been mulling adding some of its upscale tenants across its mall portfolio.

i doubt they would put in a MK store because of the new Belk flagship. Wont they have a mini-store within the actual store of MK and other brands?
