Hi folks. My wife and I are considering moving from Atlanta to Orange Beach later this year. We are in our early 50s, children will all be in college, and have one pup. We enjoy going on walks, playing tennis, cooking and the like. Have visited Orange Beach in the past and find the area to be nice, the people friendly and the amenities abundant. But, we were there as tourists.

This is sort of a wide-open question, but what should we know in making our decision? We will likely opt for a condominium as opposed to a single-family home. We have looked at a few units in the Turquoise Place condominium complex.

Many thanks for any insight you all can provide us.

Orange Beach is great and I think you guys will really like it. Some things to consider though is that there will be a lot of people there in the tourist season. Traffic will be bad and finding a restaurant is not fun but since you guys like to cook that would be better.

Turquoise Place is a very high end condominium complex. My company did the Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing design for that place so I worked with the plans a lot. The condos are really big and if they allow pets (I don't know if they do or not), I would guess that it would be a chore to take your pup for a walk every night.

In the off season it's a paradise though. Good luck it whatever you decide.

check out the Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail. Great place for walking or riding bikes.
