That is perfect! He explained it so well. Why does mobile want to spend $33 million dollars on deferred maintenance and the typical operating expenses to host 15 high school football games. The city council is to blame. To be honest, Stimpson should have really planned the roll-out of the idea better. Plus, why isn't the school system involved in the discussion? Seems like they have the greatest need for the stadium..... or maybe they will jump ship too when the city doesn't have the money to fix the stadium.

The city should bull doze the stadium in 2021......redevelop the site with a multipurpose (football and soccer stadium for public and high school use), playground, walking trails, natatorium, community center, or other public use that would really help start the revitalization of the surrounding neighborhood. The site is big enough for multiple uses and facilities. Maybe the city, county, and school system could all help front the cost. We could have the extra $2.5 million from South that could help, but that ship has sailed.

The point is Ladd is at the end of its useful life and the time has come to start discussing our options. Buildings like that weren't built to last forever.

To each his own I guess but I am born and raised here and when someone mentions Mobile, I always think that, as well as my friends when going place. When we go to West Mobile or Airport for example, that's exactly what we call it, West Mobile.

I've never been to Ladd, but it doesn't look too impressive on television for the Senior Bowl. Reminds me of the stadium in Montgomery. Of course, I can't be critical because Huntsville doesn't really have a stadium at all ... A&M has a small one, and Milton Frank doesn't even qualify with a capacity of 12,000. UAH doesn't have a football team (and I hope they never do ... concentrate on academics!).

Ladd is old and her good days are gone. In my perfect world inside of my head, the city of Mobile will build a new 35k seat Ladd that can be expanded to 60k near the Hank. And it will look impressive on I-65.The Hank will be converted into a sports complex along with an indoor walking trail. Yep that's what's going to happen just watch.

I have no faith at all that this city will do anything to bring sporting events and/or venues to this town. There's no reason that south Baldwin County is becoming a sports destination and Mobile can't.. Mobilians seem to think that any available money should be put into neighborhoods instead of investing and trying to create more money for neighborhoods. 'Old Mobile' philosophy is notorious for lack of vision. And we'll be stuck with no vision as long as we have gutless council members

Few shots of some progression of USA's stadium... Field house and some student housing in the background. It's coming along pretty nice. Kinda worried about how they're going to combat traffic coming from old shell
