Is Foley a good place to raise a family? I tried the search and it had questions from years ago. I read alot about fairhope but not much about Foley. How are the schools?
Thanks Ron from Foley in advance.

I raised my family elsewhere, so I have no idea of growing up here. I do know the area is growing fast. New schools are having to be built to keep up. Most all of the areas that were hit by the recession and then the oil spill have recovered. There are hundreds of new apartments to keep up with demand. OWA theme park is taking off.

Unless I've missed something, crime is not a big issue. With the outlet mall, shoplifting seems a little high, and there are the occasional drug busts. Organized sports are big, with huge soccer and baseball field complexes.

There is every type of doctor you would need (except an endocrinologist) here or in nearby Fairhope. You're less than an hour from large hospitals in Mobile and Pensacola.

Naturally, with all the tourists and snowbirds, there are plenty of specialty shops and every kind of restaurant conceivable. You learn when not to go near the beaches, and alternate travel routes when you do,

Hope this helps some...
