I have some clients who would like to take s trip to Dauphin Island in April or May, I know the water quality off the TX Gulf coast is not that great right now.

Can somebody give me some input? Thank you.

I think the water quality is better during the winter time after a front comes through and there is a strong north wind. I've seen it blue and clear before. But...... There is no telling how it will look. The water typically isn't clear as the beaches to the east, but Dauphin Island is not as bad as the TX coast.
