Can anyone tell me why people avoid moving/living in Lake Forest Subdivision in Daphne, AL?

I know the biggest complaint I have seen or heard was it is hard to get out Lake Forrest especially during rush hour. I looked online at some houses a couple of years ago. Most of the homes were built in the 60s that I saw online.

I think one complaint is the apartments that are way back in the subdivision. The apartment dwellers are constantly in and out of what normally would be a quiet neighborhood.

I have never heard anyone say to "avoid" Lake Forest unless they are referring to the traffic. It's a nice neighborhood. But if you work a 9-5 in Mobile, be prepared to have what should be a 30 minute commute become a 60-90 minute commute.

I have lived in Lake Forest for 17 years now and absolutely love it. With all the trees, and winding roads, it's definitely not a hardship to live here! The one thing I do wish for, however, is that people would take better care of their property. Some houses are well-maintained, (trimmed plants, raked, houses power-washed); while others .... well, some people just don't care. One more thing, people are NOT suppose to park their cars on their lawns. That has been a problem and I think the Lake Forest Property Owner's Association will get involved in that. Other than those two issues, it is basically a quiet place to live. You'll see people walking their dogs, swimming, jogging, etc. It is a pretty safe place to live. We've never had any problems.

Have you noticed a problem with cats? I thought Lake Forest was very pretty when I drove around in January, but I was only there once. However, I almost ran over a cat on Ridgewood and, when I stopped to look at a home for sale on Ivy Circle, the property was overrun with cats. Okay, overrun might be an exaggeration, but there were a few in the yard. The home was vacant, so they didn't live there. I couldn't tell if they were strays or pets, but they were very skittish.

By the way, I love animals and have rescued and fed many homeless cats and dogs, so please don't take this post the wrong way, but too many cats can become a problem.
