Hi All,

yesterday i got speeding ticket for going on 80 on a road with speed limit of 70 mph. i am going from Birmingham to Pensacola. this is my first speeding ticket. i know that in Florida i can get off my speeding ticket if i attended a traffic session . is there any provision of such policies in Alabama? is there any way to get rid of this with out paying a fee?

Different counties have different rules and costs. When I was in college I got a ticket in Clarke, Mobile and Tuscaloosa counties. For each one I was able to have it erased off my record by attending traffic school, although it always cost about as much as the ticket. The main thing was my insurance didn't go up. I haven't received another ticket since I got out of college in '96 so I'm not sure what has changed. There should be a phone number on the ticket that you can call and get information about having a ticket forgiven if attending driving school and all the details.

You only have 7 days from the date of the ticket to register for traffic school.

Yes of course you can get the ticket dismissed even in Alabama....but paying the fine is enevitable..The only problem is that you must attend a traffic school approved in the county in which you got the ticket.....Now the best way around that is by taking an online traffic school....you can take it from home for a different county/state if need be.
