Thanks for the hotel recommendations. Can anyone tell me the best/closest beach to the highway? I was thinking the kids could play in the sand for a couple hours and wear themselves out before getting into the car again but I don't want to add too much extra driving to do it.

Oh, wow! 45 minutes? That's actually much longer than I was hoping for. It looks so much closer on the map. Any other suggestions for places to tire out the kids?

We'll be there the week before Memorial Day...probably May 26th or 27th. Those are all great suggestions! I bet the kids will love the Battleship!

Since it will be close to Memorial Day then there will definitely be some sort of festivity downtown on that Friday.

Good Luck !

Really...even during the week? I'm trying to avoid traffic snarls.... We may avoid the city if the traffic looks bad.
