I am sorry to hear this, I know it must be horrible to go through! I wonder, since the city approved it if they can be drug into it? I've seen some of the things the city "inspectors" have approved around here and have been floored to say the least, one comes to mind where the first inspector approved the framing only to have a different inspector come back for final to say that the people had to do about 10k in overframing to fix what the first builder (and inspector) missed. Turned out the first one was a new inspector so he missed things....

Yes, several months ago we joined the city in our suit. That has endeared us to people. There is a high turnover here in the building department.

I'll bet people love you there. I notice that you are darned if you do and shafted if you don't. It seems to be the Montana way, take the shafting and god forbid you should make waves.......

my husband, daughter & I are planning to move to Billings in April of 2008, we are also from Alabama, Birmingham area. It's nice to hear that you are doing well so far. We have been reading these forums for a couple of months and the reaction to newcomers seems to be pretty mixed, as with any where else. We enjoy the outdoors, simple life. What part of Alabama are you from? Has it been a complete culture shock?
