Wife and I are from Connecticut. Mother in law moved to Whitefish last year to retire. We are flying out to visit in Sept. We have never been to Montana. We are looking for a place to stay(she has 1 br apt, plus we need alone time too). Wifes brother and wife live in Kalispel I want to add.
My mother in law suggested this place : www.grousemountainlodge.com
Looks cool. Anyone know how this place rates?
Also, just wondering what we can expect in Montana? We will be visiting Glacier Park and I guess other sites too.

When visiting White Fish remember to bring onion rolls or onion board and Greek salad. May be some Schav, too.

The Going to the Sun highway just opened so make sure you take that jaunt. It's well worth it. Also in the park are the goat licks. You might catch a mountain goat feeding on the mineral licks. There are so many lakes and waterfalls to explore in Glacier, check with the visitor center there. Outside the park and around the Kalispell/tri-city area are lots to do also. The Mystery House is one of my kid's favorites as well as the Maze. Check out Hungry Horse Dam. The whole valley is spilling over with activities to do. Find a visitor center in Kalispell and ask.
