Default Dear Watts Family,

I posted a long message and then something went wrong so don't know if you received my message directly or not. I live on the west end and my sons are in 2nd and 3rd grade.

Here's the Billings Schools website: Billings Public Schools

Go on there and look for the different school report cards. If you download or print them out you can really look at all the details about learning at each school.

I wrote a ton more so if you have any questions, please let me know!

Could you post the rest here? I'm also looking for as much info on this topic as possible.
Thanks

Default Billings Schools

Regarding the message I tried to post and my internet messed up and it didn't post....all I was saying is to go to each elementary school on the billingsschools.org web site and try to do these (2) things:

1) find the school report card, print, download or save it to your desktop so you can compare each school's ratings...
AND
2) try to go to each school's own web site to view their staff page or staff directory with all the teacher's names, etc. then look to see if you can find out how many 'Red Apple' Award Winners. Those red apple awards are awarded to the teachers that are nominated by parents and staff and voted upon. Each year they only give out so many awards so they are very prestigous within the billings school district.

I know the most about Boulder Elementary because both my son's go there and it just feels like home when you walk in the door. Also, my youngest is in 2nd grade and is "special" when it comes to his behavior. I just don't know where I'd be without the his Teacher, the Research teacher, the Counselor, the Principal, the School Secretary, and everyone else there. They all seem to work very well together as a team and I feel so secure knowing my kids are being so well taken care of while at school.

Boulder isn't the only great school though! I've heard great things about Poly Elementary, and a few others. Although, schools are a very personal choice and you have to do the research yourself that I mentioned previously...call the schools and talk to the Principal...go to the schools to get a feeling for each one...much like interviewing for a job. YOU have to feel comfortable with the school so because it's personal you have to pick the school that's right for you. Laurel might be a great school as well - so I'm not knocking the other area schools at all. I'm just giving you my own personal experiences because my youngest son requires more than just the standard classroom education.

Feel free to ask me anything else though !!!

Thanks,
Tasha
