Another reason i decided NOT to retire in Montana. Living costs are way above average, Food is expensive, insurance is expensive and incomes are 21.2% below average. The taxes are bad enough already. Montana taxes most forms of retirement income, including Social Security, and the top rate of 6.9% kicks in once taxable income tops just $17,400. The Montana Legislature convenes in 21 days: Jan. 7, 2019. Gov. Bullock’s budget calls for $100M in new and increased taxes. At least 24 Republicans are squishy and may support Bullock. you can thank Lew Jones and Ed Buttrey for leading the 24 Republicans to side with Bullock and not with the people that voted them in. The state has really gone to hell with the last 2 democratic governors..............

He's a democrat, it's what they do.

He's termed out, so this is his last chance to destroy the economy here, then he has delusions of running for President.

The republican legislature has stymied both bullock, and king Brian the lesser before. They can dream of unlimited taxes all they want, most of the people don't want more taxes.

I wouldn't get too exited until something is actually put into a bill. The budget rarely looks anything like what the governor proposes after first contact with the committees.
Montana has a balanced budget requirement in the constitution, really limits how much the libs can waste, and any republican legislator, and some of the dems know if they vote for more taxes, they would be out on their hip pockets.
